A Year 6 pupil has recently been working towards his next Judo belt. He modestly told us that he has achieved his red belt!  We are very proud of his hard work and dedication.  

During a chat, the pupil showed his enthusiasm for the sport.  He told us that Judo is a sport where your main objective is to flip your opponent onto their back and/or pin them down using a variety of different techniques. He continued to tell us the different techniques and how the sport started in Japan. The different belts are white, red, yellow, orange, green, blue, brown and finally black.

Judo is a martial art and is now a global sport. Today it is one of the most popular martial arts and is represented in the Olympics!

It is very clear that this person is very committed and has great enthusiasm for the sport. A massive well done for what you have achieved so far, and good luck for the future in achieving your next belt!
